Post subject: Yet another philosophical/religious discussion/rant
|
|
|
|
Comments about a God-inspired Moral Law, mostly by C. S. Lewis.
This was e-mailed to me by my youth ministries counselor. I added my own views on it and sent it back. However, I think that the members of this board could provide better, broader, and much faster discussion of this. Any thoughts? _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

Yes, it's quite feasible to give a 4 page file with small black and red text to a message board of people with (more or less) ADD as soon as they get on their computers, and to then expect them to make philosophical comments and inquiries on said document.
In any case, I'm just shocked that a "youth ministries" organization is openly sending the works of 1 (one) C. S. Lewis to youths. Maybe they just don't know about the books he wrote while he was in cahootz with the Devil. _________________ "KUSANAGI!" |

The Paradox has a headache. He had one last night when he first saw this thread, too. Don't expect anything interesting from the Paradox for at least a day. _________________ anime is teh s uck

Meh. I've got time. It took me two months to get around to doing anything.
ST, I know that most members won't read the whole thing. I don't care. A few might, and they might have something interesting to say. I'm just fishing. About the C.S. Lewis thing, they're really only speaking about the pro-God stuff, of course. Also, I'm not in any danger of being corrupted by some guy who didn't always in the favor of Chrisitanity. I don't even believe it makes sense for God to exist, nor do I think I should believe in and follow any Almighty Thing, just because it claims to exist and be powerful. I'm the only person in my youth group who openly refuses to believe in God. Yes, it's hypocritical, but it's not my fault. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

It's a mecha! God is a mecha!
Let us pray to the mecha! Let us write fanfictions about this mecha and its pilots! We can call it the mecha bible...

Hmm...

That could work. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

That depends - does this Spider eat people and create flowers in ways that are distinguishable from non-Spider-caused incidents? If so, then it can be shown that the Spider exists in a capacity other than killing people and farting. This is infinitely preferable to the Almighty Thing of the Christians, who says that he creates everything and does everything, and there's nothing he doesn't do, and thus no way to show that it is in fact him, and not, say, chemical interactions, that do stuff. There really isn't any way to determine whether an Almighty Thing does everything, or nothing. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.
