That's really sad if you think about it. I don't think Video Games will ever have an even semi-decent awards show.

I don't think that they ever SHOULD. Seriously, if you're anticipating a game, you read the reviews and previews on it. That's how you find out if you want it or not. Not from some jackassed award show.

I don't think I ever want to see Tom Cruise giving away an award for best polygonal boob jiggle of 2004.

Truth be Told the cast sounds pretty awesome

DareDevil/Matt Murdock-Ben Affleck

Elektra-Jennifer Garner

Kingpin/Wilson Fisk-Michael Clarke Duncan

Bullseye-Colin Farell

Foggy Nelson-Jon Favreau.

I agree, Zechs. Ever since seeing Dogma, Ben Affleck is cool. Kingpin is a fitting actor, I think at least. And isn't Jennifer Garner the actress from Alias? I think this lineup is pretty rockin.

If the script and direction are as first-class as the cast, there is hope. Smile
Expect heavy, suffocating promotion for this, since Daredevil is one of the more obscure Marvel characters. They'll need every bit of publicity they can scrounge.</opinion>

daredevil is actually one of the more mainstream marvel heroes... you want obscure marvel? try Merzah the Mystic on for size.

Reports are the new TMNT series will premiere on Saturday, February 8, 2003.

The official Fox Box website also contains a synopsis for the first episode. It will act as a re-introduction to the characters, as well as featuring the first tussle between the Ninja Turtles and the Purple Ninjas, one of the main adversaries of the first season.

Fox Box is expected to air new episodes for thirteen straight weeks, through to Saturday, May 3, 2003.

I know these are a bunch of sequential posts, but eh...

Quote:
Hottest Heroine
Coolest Villain
Best All-Around Badass
Best Free-For-All Carnage

What kind of awards are those?

They should have awards similar to the oscars. My list would be like this:

Best Soundtrack
Best Art Direction
Best Character Design (Like Best Costume)
Best Area Design (Like Best Set Design)

And game type awards, too:

Most Balanced Gameplay
Most Original
Most Innovative
Most Immersive
Best <genre> Awards
Best Sound Effects
Best Technical Graphic Acheivement
Best Technical Acheivement
Best Artificial Intelligence

Try catagories more like these:
Best Director
Best Art Direction
Best Cinematography
Best Character Design
Best FMV Editing
Best Sound
Best Sound Effects Editing
Best Visual Effects
Best Original Concept
Best Movie Adaption
Best Sound Execution
Best Musical Score
Best Texturing
Best Modeling
Best Story
Best RPG/Action/Driving/Arcade/Family/Puzzle/Fighting/Sim/Strategy/Shooter/Sports Game
Best Overall Game of the Year
Best Perifial
Best Packaging
Best 3D Animation
Best 2D Animation
Most Innovative
Best Male Voice actor
Best Female Voice actor
Best Game Engine
Best Programer
Umm... there's probably more I could think of, but I think that'd be enough for a 6 hour award show.

There are two reasons Videogames don't have award shows. One, there are no big names in gaming, there are to gamers, but ONLY to gamers. The second reason is: There aren't really many "hotties" (male or female) working on the games, they are few and very far between, usually they are just sweaty nerdboys.

Well, actors wouldn't be known if it weren't for TV and Movies, right? It's just a bigger pool, with a lower relative IQ.

Why is it almost a necessary tenet of intelligence that: the smarter you are, the less attractive physically you are? And vice-versa.

I never understood this, but then again, I'm both smart and attractive, so I buck the trend. Very Happy
