Ladies and gentleman,

we have cussing.

"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN YOU!" Vegeta

First non-AS cussing since Raven dropped Hell on Guardian Force.

Ah, the Spirit Bomb. So cool-looking, yet so worthless.

I wonder why vegeta survived the spirit bomb? Could it be because he already has goodness in his heart? Goku said that the spirit bomb only hurts the evil, but how does it figure out whats evil and whats not?

Because spirit energy defeats evil energy, it knows who is emitting the evil energy. (Frieza also survived it and I dont think he had any goodness in him.)

It wasn't a complete Spirit Bomb. Goku had dropped most of the energy. That was a REMNANT.

What I really like about this early battle is that their energy reserves aren't limited. Every blast that they fling leaves them a little weaker. Every blast that hits them, leaves them a little weaker. After Vegita gets hit by the Spirit Bomb and gets up, he hits Krillian. He's pissed as hell and slams Krillian across the face.

Yet Krillian is still alive.

He goes over to Gohan and realizes that he has to rip his tail off. Yet doesn't instantly. Vegita is dead tired.

Hell, a fully healed Chao-zu could have an even match with Vegita right now. A fully healed Piccolo would PWN his ass.

So the Spirit Bomo hurt him. It just wasn't strong enough to kill him. He's a strong bastard.

Also, having seen Dragon Ball now, it occurs to me how badass and awesome Krillian is. Have I mentioned this yet? He all of a sudden can do the Split Form technique, he has that move that he splits into 5 parts to kill the Saibamen, he has his Destructo Disk, he can even form the energy into the Spirit Bomb.

Krillin has always been badass. He always manages to contribute in some meaningful way when all the characters who aren't alien (like Yamcha and Chao Tzu) get punked.

Another aside:
If Vegeta REALLY had been still capable of doing any more damage Yajirobi would've stepped out and got it done.

Ahhhh early Z. When everyone still mattered.

Of course, Krillin remains awesome forever; even in t he Buu saga he throws himself at Buu while the champions of the four Kais stand around like tools.

Nah, if you hadn't seen DB, it's more like "He's brave but week and gets taken out with one hit."

In one of the movies, he says it best. They're fighting some robot thing, and they're up in the clouds, and he goes to hit it and it SMACKS him out of the air, and he says "WhyDoesThisAlwaysHaftaHappenToMEEEEeeeeeeeee?!?!?!?"

And for a long time, to me, that defined Krillian.

Having seen 85% of the DB universe (97% if you discount the movies and GT, as I normally do), I now see things differently.

But you have to admit, there are a lot of times where it's One Hit and you're Out Krillian.

Did you see the brolly returns movie? In there after brolly took a short trip through lava, he shot one small blast. Adult Gohan easilly evaded it even though he was really beat up, but Krillin got hit, blasted into a hill, and said "Why do I always end up like this?". Even though he is weak, he still saved gohan which passed out and almoust ended up in the lava (and unlike brolly with the shield, he would have died).

Anyway, do you think there is any chance CN will show some DBZ movies?

Well They've shown quite a few already haven't they? At least 6 I think, The three original that were beaten like a dead parapalegic horse and the others they showed on Saturday Toonami a while back with the horrible guitar music.

I'd like to see Curse of The Blood Rubies(DB Movie 1) on CN. It's little more than a retelling of the DB Origin story, but it's fun and has animation really stunning for its time.

I have seen 99% of the DB universe I only need to watch the 3 dragonball movies before that last one in which android 8 dies. The weird thing is that I saw DBZ and GT before dragonball! I always thought krillin sucked before I saw dragonball too, especially in the cell saga when he tried to fight cell.

No, you just don't understand the musical genius of Sum41.

Most of us saw DBZ before anything else, as it was played to death on CN. I saw about 2 episodes of GT and decided to avoid it like the plague. But I REALLY liked Dragon Ball. It had a REALLY nice evolution about it. And it is need how it changes your perspective of DBZ. I think it adds a lot to Z, myself.

Yeah, your right that after seeing dragonball you see dbz in a different way. Dragonball Z is my favorite anime and I look up to Akira Toriyama and I hope to create my own anime someday. Dragonball was a really good start to the trilogy, Z was the best hands down, GT was not going to happen but look what they did with the whole dragonball universe. When dragonball in general is mentioned I dont think GT comes to anyone's mind. It should never have been made. I like it, but I dont think it was necessary. I read in a magazine that they made it just to release the game Dragonball GT Final Bout, another addition to the horrible dbz games of the past for playstation. Nonetheless DBZ still has millions of fans across the world.

Again, Toriyama had NOTHING TO DO with GT. The series itself was made for money. It wasn't made so they could make a game. Two separate, yet related, money bags.

The Movies also had nothing to do with Toriyama. Hence, they, for the most part, don't fit into the timeline of the series.

And finally, your dream shoud not be to make an anime. Anime means a Japanese cartoon. Must you make one in Japan? Your dream should be to make a CARTOON, if anything. Animation is not inferior or superior because of where it comes from. Shit knows no national borders.
