Post subject: Three Years Worth...Gone

I'm upset.
Really upset.
I joined fanfition.net in early 2001 (May I think) and since then have enjoyed positive reviews and writing even through my hard drive wipes. I knew I could always find the old arcives of my stories online.
Until now.
For resons unknow, fanfiction.net has made my account dissapear. Apart from the last five chapters of my most recent fiction, all of my hard work has gone up in data flames.
I have nothing to show that my writing skills and creativity have evolved in the last few years. nothing. I should have and I could have redownladed them but I thought 'no, they're safe on ff.net' but no.
It's all gone.
I'm actually, quite, heartbroken. it's like a piece of my life is missing after I spent s long writing them...they're just...gone.
The most upsetting is that the first part of my trilogy is gone and I only have the 2nd one of record.
I actually think I'm going to cry...
I hate fanfiction.net for doing this. I am actually really upset... _________________ rednekbob9: 1: You're Female

See? I remember when the board reset and all of my work was deleted. I freaked. Especially since I was going to continue the fanfiction that I was working on. From then out, I've always had two backup copies of anything that I worked on.
Fanfiction.net sucks. |

Did you login often? if you didn't thats why(they don't like when you don't). But then again they shouldn't have gotten rid of your fics...

As much as it does it's the easiest way to find fics. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." - Calvin

That really sucks. Too bad I never got a chance to read all of your work i'm sure it was great. I hope they do something for you to make up for it. _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite. |

Yeah, when the board reset, all the posts I made in Martin's Bar and the Fight Thread (which is all of my legitimate creative writing EVER) were gone, in addition to some really good thought provoking things I had said in arguments with Night, AND the greatest Tyler quote ever about a good topic poster being like a guy rolling up a snowball and rolling it down a hill. Good thing was, it didn't really mean that much to me once I thought about it (and I have the jist of hte Tyler quote memorized and still use it to make some people laugh).
I really feel bad for you Dill. I'm hoping they can recover the stuff . . . somehow. _________________ anime is teh s uck

Fanfics suck. Be original and write your own stuff. Any more sexual discovery adventures featuring Cardcaptors, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, or DBZ and I'll puke. The only things that I liked on that site were the NC-17 Tenchi ones with sick senses of humor.
But then again, I've never been much of a role model.
Now, let's see how many of you bother to read post subject titles. _________________ "KUSANAGI!" |

Hey, st, I DO write my own stuff, fanfics are just my side setting for when i get writers block if you don't like 'em, don't read them!!
Hey guess what! ff.net found my account! They recovered all my stuff too! So all is notlost, and now *bow bow bow* I will make back up of ALL!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your sympathy it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
Look out for my book in 40 years! When I finish my novel then we'll see who'll be writing fanfition!
Actually...my novel is still in my head...and it's more of a film script... _________________ rednekbob9: 1: You're Female

Don't scream at me! 99% of my work is original. Right now I'm working on a 5 chapter serial called "On the run". I made two fanfictions, one to make fun of a show I didn't like, and one to complain about an ending.
Dill, I'm glad you found your stuff. |

Yeah, that was a much better ending to G Gundam, Beat.
The only thing I've ever written is a 6 page story for english class (was supposed to be 2 pages, but I needed to get to an ending, so I just kept going). I like writing when I have something to write about. Which isn't often. Never did any fan fics. Don't really interest me. Although, I haven't found a good book in like, 3 years, and all the books my school assigns I wouldn't want to touch with a 10 foot pole if I had a say in the matter. _________________ anime is teh s uck

I suggest reading Terry Brooks Running with the Demon trilogy. it's excellent modern fantasy. The latest Shannara series is good as well. If your into sci-fi, I suggest the Eyes of Light and Darkness, the shark book Hunger is damn sweet too (though it['s not fantasy or sci-fi), if you like sharks at all it['s a damn good read. _________________ "Veni.
