Its a pretty good show. I like to try and figure it out before they say it and its pretty easy.
Pretty EASY?! are you kidding me? Like in the episode where the jerk smoker was killed you honestly guessed it realy was his mom even though the show made a strong hint it was the guy that hated him.

i like the show too, but it really has no place on Adult Swim late night programming....you take out the little foul language they use, and this could be a Miguzi show. i have no clue why they made it a AS show. it really has no place here. obviously, someone doesnt know much about censoring shows....someone also must have never seen any Dragonball, Dragonball Z, or Dragonball GT episodes uncut.....cuz anyone seeing that would know that americans can pretty much censor EVERYTHING they deem offensive in a show and make it producible to kids....i mean Detective Conan is about a kid detective and his kid friends who solve mysteries together....how the hell is a show like that on at 12:30 at night on weekdays?....how is a show like this made for adults? im sorry, but i just dont see it....you can add adult jokes and sexual humor to anything, but it doesnt mean it can't be for kids _________________ "For those with wings, fly to your dreams!" - Pilot Candidate (Candidate for Goddess)

Ok then how about the murders, if they edited out every dead body so 7 year olds can watch it they would have to throw in alot more commercials to fill up the slot. And it isn't about how a kid and his chums solve misteries, its about an adult who was turned a kid solves mysteries with an attractive woman and a useless drunk, stressing that the kids that hang out with him are losers and noone listens to conan when hes a kid....like the kids that get home from school want to be told how stupid and lame kids are.

it doesnt have to be children driven. My point is since he is only a TEENAGER who was turned into a kid, i dont really see how this is suppose to appeal to ADULTS. i mean, they have a special "Conan Hint" after each show so you can help solve a mystery at the end....i dont think the "conan hint" is quite for adults....and when this thing was playing in Japan, i highly doubt it was aimed at an adult audience. um..dude...do you watch adult swim? its for 14 and up not 18 and up...i bet more kids watch it than actual adults..heck im 15 and all my friends watch it.
Besides Conan is realy 18 right? yeah 18 is still a teen I grant you that but where I come from they are more commonly known as adults
Im not sure if you can tell the difference but Case closed and Spy Girls are completely different shows...
If your asking why it can't be on a different time slot then I have to say this
Your right! There isn't any show on Adult swim that can't be placed on another time-slot with editing.(Excluding ATHF) The thing is bud, Case cCosed is about a boy becoming a man that has to live life over again with a foxy lady and a drunkard while stoping gunmen, murderers, kidnapers, and thieves. Another point is that there is a death in every single show sometimes multiple deaths. If this was on daytime TV Cartoon network would get letters saying, "MY little billy was watching this show about a stupid drunk guy, murderers and crime and its this kind of trash that corrupts my child's sheltered life into thinking bad things happen in the world"

I don't care if this show is for adults, kids, whatever. I find myself drawn to it. I usually like a lot of action and fighitng in my cartoons, but somehow this show keeps me watching. Perhaps it's on AS because kids woulnd't appreciate the plot twists. Perhaps it has nothing to do with the adult content so much as the plot content. _________________ anime is teh s uck

im pretty sure (lords of the AS correct me if i am wrong) that adult swim is for 18 and up....they have a little warning before most shows that say if your under 17 that you should not watch it (well, it really says that it would be offensive to anyone under 17, but kinda the same thing)
and conan may be 18, but he is still a high school student, or at least he was at the time.
and maybe it was a tad bit harsh for me to say it belonged on Miguzi ( i pray every night for all the shows that are cursed in that time slot) but you can admit, it's not quite a 100% adult swim...maybe a saturday night toonami show possibly...but that's not to say that i dont like the show...it really is quite good, but how do they expect people to stay up til 12:30 to watch an 8-year old detective solve crimes....even though i stay up til 2 am every night...but that's just me. _________________ "For those with wings, fly to your dreams!" - Pilot Candidate (Candidate for Goddess)

I think its a good show for AS. The nice thing about Adult Swim is that the shows don't have to be aciton packed. They can have a good story like Detective Conan. Plus its always nice to have a break form the standard shows.

I'm almost caught up on the show. I hate when I can't sovle the case before him... You feel very stupid for missing some of the smaller things. Like the 1st ep fo example.. My buddy and I both agree that Detective Conan just doesn't fit right in Adult Swim, that it's just not "Adult Enough" but we also agree that it's much to adult for the Miguzi audience. If only CN had a block for the Toonami age bracket for non action oriented shows it would fit perfectly in there.
