I've been recently hooked on this fairly new anime called Naruto!
Does any body else here watch it? It's really popular I'm surprised I haven't heard about it on the board.
It currently runs on Tokyo Tv at 6:30 PM Thursdays.
A new episode is released every thursday. This could be the best shonen anime I've ever seen. Discuss!

Never heard of it.
And there's this little issue called "line of sight" that prevents me from getting feeds from Japanese satellites.
Unless you know of a satellite over here in the states that broadcasts TV Tokyo...

| Ah, Naruto. Good, good show. I don't remember all the details, so I'm at no liberty to give a synopsis. ^_^ It is a good show, though, and you should all invest in some Naruto DVDs. Now. |

Synopsis:
12 years ago in the Hidden Leaf shinobi village of fire there was a giant nine-tailed fox that would cause destruction and landslides. The shinobi fought hard against it and one shinobi arose. The 4th Hokage, to defeat the mighty beast. He sacrificed his own life and could only seal the beast away and chose to do so in the belly of a newborn baby(Uzumaki Naruto).
This is the story of Naruto's adventures with his friends, and his dream to become the 5th Hokage. (Hokage, is the name given to the most powerful ninja in the village)
Description: mad action, adventure, romance, despair. basically everything!
Personal rating: 10 out of 10!
Vivid animation, solid deep characters, and compelling storyline makes this anime an instant classic. Truly a masterpiece.

The translated manga is currently running in "Shonen Jump." "I wrike it Wraggy!" It's a good story, funny funny funny, and, dare I say, a little emotional at times. Goldfinger's synopsis is spot-on, but there are a few things I'd like to add, namely a few other main characters...
Sakura Haruno: Strawberry-blonde, sweet-tough girl that Naruto's got his eye on. However, Sakura has a thing for...
Uchiha Sasuke: Typical angst-filled loner/bad boy that every girl seems to have a crush on. He couldn't care less, though. (Like I said, typical.)
Hatake Kakashi: The three young shinobi's teacher and overseer. Plays it cool at all times, even in battle. Prone to reading "Make-Out Paradise" in the most tense situations. (I'll leave you to guess the subject matter.)

Hopefully because this looks like it's gonna be another long running series, probably over 100 eps.
The manga alone is up to 171 chapters and still going strong.
Episode 36 should be on via fansub this friday.
I truthfully cannot wait a week for a new ep. it's too good.
