So I was a victim of this sale back in September, as even though I was just glancing through the list of eligible DVDs to kill time (big mistake), their prices on s-CRY-ed were too good to resist. I purchased the Volume 1 w/box and junk along with Volumes 2 and 3, only to have them all immediately backordered. They've since sent out Volume 2 a few weeks ago and Volume 3 the other day, but those won't do me much good if they can't fill the item that was the reason behind my order in the first place! =)

Just gotta be patient I guess...

Game
Sonic the Hedgehog (360)

Sadly, it's the worst Sonic game since Shadow the Hedgehog (even though I thought that feat was impossible). Frustratingly difficult stages (combining time limits, bad camera angles, and really loose controls =MUST DESTROY) do not make a great game. At least the story is pretty good so far (not as good as Sonic Adventure's, though). Sigh... When is SEGA going to understand that the Sonic series really only works in 2D(with an exception being the upcoming Sonic and the Secret of Rings for the wii)?

EDIT: Okay, I take it back. Sonic the Hedgehog(360) is NOT worse than Shadow the Hedgehog. The storyline is far better (and MUCH longer), and the stages (while still poorly designed) are more exciting (and manageable once you learn to expect stages stacked against your favor). It's still not as good as Sonic Adventure, though, mostly since the frustrating stage design (rather than SA's classic Sonic levels done in 3D, basically) really brings it down a lot. It's definitely a game you've got to play through at least for a few hours before you can get a good feel for it. By the way, yes, I am a hardcore Sonic fan.

The fact that you've played through Shadow the Hedgehog proves this...

(Well, that's unfair on my part: I haven't touched a Sonic game since the Dreamcast's demise [Sonic Mega Collection Plus doesn't count since it's just the Genesis/Game Gear games], so I don't have first-hand experience on Shadow the Hedgehog. That said, I challenge anyone to find a positive review for it outside of the sega.com domain...)

Yeah, Shadow was pretty terrible, but at least the music was pretty catchy. The story was OK as well...until you found out that you had to beat each stage two different ways (Hero and Dark missions) to get the "True" ending. There were at least 5 final stages (not to be confused with the "true" ending stage) that had the exact same bosses depending on your choices in the game (Black Doom if Hero, Robotnik if Neutral, and Sonic/some GUN leader if Dark). If they had actually fleshed out the stages, and made Shadow's speed a factor (rather than giving him near useless guns), it could have been great. As it stands, only the music and story stand out(though both of them combined can't save it). I'd say the music (not the stage music, but the theme song, and the ending songs) is definitely worth checking out, though.

Birds of Prey #98 and #99
Teen Titans #39 and #40 (really weak issues, even for TT, BTW)
a good amount of various Marvel/DC comics (mostly Civil War themed issues for Marvel, and 52 stuff for DC)
