I found a website which has almoust all the music I ever want, but the problem is that all the files are Windows Media Audio/Video Playlist. This is a weired thing because it takes up 1 kb, and plays on the computer all the time, even if I disconnect the internet. I even tried restarting the computer, and the file still worked without being connected to a site. I wanted to burn these files on my music cds (Atrac3plus), but that codec was not recognized by any of the music burning software (I tried sonic stage and RecordNow). Does anyone know if there is any way I can convert those files into MP3 or WMA or something like that?

The playlist file is probably pointing to other files that are cached on your hard drive. Try opening the 1 kb file in a text editor and see where it's pointing to.

I tried entering both of those addreses, but they just automatically opened Windown Media Player

You can try configuring up your web browser to download .asf files instead of opening them, or your can get a download manager that will save the streaming audio/video to your hard drive.

One such download manager is HiDownload.

Alright, HiDownload does work, but you must change the download mode to Windows Media Stream. Trust me, it will work.

None that I can find.
Sony has ATRAC locked up fairly tight.

Well, you could do that, but it involves more work than I'd want to go through for a measly Limp Bizkit song...

What I'm doing is simply downloading the ASF files and then converting them to WMA using Movie Maker. And it's going quickly, like 5 seconds for a 5 minute song.

I just got a program which captures audio through the audio card, so I just listen to the song and the program records it into mp3 file.

We Mac people just use AudioHijack or WireTap.
...or mplayer to just dump the stream to a file.
...and convert it to .mp4, mp3, wav or aiff with ffmpeg or mencoder.

I'm sorry to hear that there's no software for Windows. Maybe someday you'll learn...

Yes there is software for windows. Its called dBpowerAMP Music Converter (dMC). Its free for 30 days and then it costs $14. It can capture audio from the sound card, mic, and other stuff, and record it into an mp3 file.
