Let's settle this once and for all, shall we? Which do you prefer: Dead parrots, the Super Fans, Chicken-girl, the "He looka like a man" woman, or Goldie Hawn back when she was young?

Me? I'll cast in my lot with those bizzare Brits any day of the week.

Edit: See my post below for a clarification.

That cancelled show with Collen Ferrel was pretty funny, but this isn't even a contest.

I'ld take a fish slap from the Ministry of Silly Walks to the Pet Shop of Cadaver Parrots anyday. That's Monty Python, if you're one of those idiot folk.

J.R. Tolkien. Star Trek. Farscape. Linus Torvald. Steve Jobs. Bill Gates, and of course, Steve Balmer. One word repeated for several minutes can still be a quote.

And that's a very, very incomplete list that I have no intention of finishing. Ever.

Would Who's Line is it Anyway count in this? Cuz otherwise, there really is no contest. SNL has sucekd in recent years, except for Will Farrel's Bush.

Monty Python steals it for me, although Kids in the Hall is a close runner-up. And no, CP, I believe that sketch comedy is by definition rehearsed, or at least scripted.

Just out of curiosity, which block of Whose Line do you prefer?
I believe that, although Wayne Brady sings better than Mike, the comedy team of Josie Lawrence, Mike McShane, Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, and the British audiences nearly rivals the awesome-tastical-ness of Monty Python.

I knew I left something out!!! I originally was going to put in In Living Color up there, but I blanked when I actually set up the poll. For those of you who don't know, In Living Color was that skit show with the Wayans siblings and a young Jim Carrey ("Don't worry! I'm a fire marshal!") Sorry about that mix-up.

As for Who's Line, the british shows were funnier by light years. I loved the way CLive ANderson and Greg Proops would work off each other. My personal favorite lineup would be Ryan Stiles, Colin Mocherie, Tony Slatery (the little black-haired guy that often wore a leather jacket), and Mike McShane. (Irrelevant fact: I go to the junior college that McShane started out at. Go Mustangs!) But, no; improv shows don't qualify as sketch shows.

I gotta disagree. I think the American one was better. Colan Mochery, Ryan Stiles, and Wayne Brady are tops by a long shot, and I haven't seen it in so long that I can't remember who else was good. But I gotta say American if for nothing else, three things: 1) the Golf Song "A Squirrel Chewed My Bag, and my Balls Fell Out," 2) the sound effects sketch where the two ladies from the audience had to do the sound effects and he goes "Now, I'm gonna make an elephant sound when we go in, here, we'll try it now to try it out, ready? Here it is:" "Quack quack quack" and 3) the Secret Agent sketch where Colin and Ryan had to clean a foreign VIP's 'Bermuse'.

"We need detergent! What can we use?!"
"Hmm . . . the CAT!" *Shakes cat over the tub with the Bermuse in it.*
