1. don't buy FFx2, rent maybe, but don't waste your money. I got to try the full version of it at my local game crazy store and besides being nothin like a standard fantasy game, it doesn't use the traditional fanfare tune... and that ain't right. The only reason to buy it is the same for buying DOA:xtreme beach volley ball...Sex appeal.

2. Why is it that, besides ff9, every game on the PS/PS2 has been set in a futuristic world? Wasn't FF orginally supposed to be in a dark ages/ iron age setting? Sure FF6 had trains and blimps but its nothing compared to this. Yes it looks great... really great but even I still feel like Square left its prime on the SNES.

two things.

1. DOA: XBV was fun to play too.

2. FFXII is set in the world of Tactics(dunno if FFTA is the same game or different-- its based on one fo the two)

Yep. And in order to play 4 player and get the full experience, you need 3 friends and 4 game boy advances.

square needs to get off its high horse and make shit for the other two platforms. Hell let Sony keep the FF series but give Nintendo something like the Kingdom Hearts or Chrono series. and lastly give Microsoft the Saga or Grandia or some shit like that.

Well i'm tired of Square trying to be the pimp in the joint companies over Enix. I mean, sure Square has some great games, but people highly underestimate Enix. I want my copy of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time now. I'm still pissed at the fact that they delayed it from october to february Evil or Very Mad . I mean since the 2 became one company I want to know how many Square based titles compared to Enix based titles that have been released in America?

They did the same thing to Crystal Chronicles. And I've been looking forward to a FF game on Game Cube for well over a year now. Though I have no clue where I'm gonna find 3 friends with GBAs. I have 2, and one doesn't even play his GBA and wants to sell it to me.

Enix has always released their games slowly.

I myself am eyeing Dragon Quest (Warrior) VIII. The GBC renditions of the first three were great, and VIII is beautifully cel-shaded anime style. Maybe if the PS2 drops its price some more and I find some more games that I'm willing to get on there (like Silent Hill 2 & 3), then maybe I'll get one.

Dragon Warrior in 3D with Akira Toriyama handling all the character designs. Sweetness.

I meant as examples. being a one console exclusive company (1 frickin game for gc doesn't count) means they lose out on ALOT of potential customers... or maybe square likes having the excuse of making their games for the worst system out there so they don't have to get fancy.

Square-Enix is also slightly owned by Sony, but I don't know how much impact that has...

Well, I tend to shy away from games that come out on all 3 platforms. The controls tend to suck. Game Cube games made by Nintendo have really fluid, logical controls. Prime example: Pikmin. You control 101 guys all at once and it's remarkably simple. The only problems with that game wer that it was too short with too little to do and too little time in a day. But not once did I complain about the controls.

As opposed to, say, Madden 2003 or James Bond: Nightfire.

So, yes, they could make games for all 3 platforms, but I think it will lessen the quality, personally.
