Michael Moore is a god among men.
He has more balls than Spalding.
The entire "Academy" hates his guts (mutially, BTW) and I'm surprised he even showed up, let alone won.
And then, all hell broke loose. If the Oscars were a Mexican event, we'ld be talking Veracruz style, my friends.
If you don't understand, it'll be everywhere soon enough.
In unrelated news today, I just realized that all of Steve Martin's movies were crap.

Just because he's not politically correct, people hate his ideals. I respect him for what he said at the Oscars. People shouldn't disrespect him because he may be smarter than all of us.

| NOt the forum for his public bitching at Bush. It degraded from a slightly intelligent rant to him complaining about someone he has a personel problem with. He doesn't like Bush, and Bush doesn't like him. Please Moore, spare us your personel vendettas and keep making good social commmentary films. |

Can you think of a better forum for voicing his opinions? In most other venues, people who listen to him talk already share his viewpoint. He got kudos for the documentary on humanity+guns-safety=BAD IDEA, so he deserves to speak about the recent use of guns by (ir)responsible Americans.

1. Last time I checked, Bush wasn't firing any weapons reguardless of what you think of him as president.
2. The question of venue brings up this point: Just because you CAN say anything you want in your speech, SHOULD you?
I say no. I mean, I COULD get up in front of a group of femists and proclaim the belief that they should all go back to the kichten and make me a sandwhich, but SHOULD I? That would probably be a VERY bad idea, just as it was a bad idea for Moore to take his personel vendetta into the public debate rather than keeping it strictly an exchange of ideas. |

Yes. Yes you should. Why? Because it's funny. And everyone needs to laugh. Is it the most sensitive thing to do? No. But who wants a feminist as a girlfriend. Not me. So laugh away is what I say.
