Post subject: Guardian of the Sacred Spirit, a.k.a. Seirei no Moribito
Just as teh internets is whining about [as]'s schedule and the cutback of anime showings, we get word of another new show coming this year.
The 26-episode show, animated by Production I.G. (GitS:SAC) and co-produced by Dentsu and d-rights, is about a wandering spear woman named Balsa who takes on the task of saving lives in atonement for a past sin. The show is based on a series of novels that Scholastic will be translating and distributing starting this June, with a DVD release later this year via Media Blasters.
Since it was basically pre-licensed by Geneon before they withdrew from distribution, not many people are familiar with the series.

I'm surprised to see that Media Blasters is now the licensee. CN hasn't picked up any MB properties since Rurouni Kenshin.
