[White Boy Trying to Act Like a Homie Translator v4.0.55]

Hello and generic greetings to the members of TI. I have the CD titled, "Deep Space Bass", and I am currently having a difficult time playing it on my computer. When I put the CD in my computer, nothing happens. However,
the CD works just fine whever I use it in my CD player. Have any of the ladies or gents here at TI ever had this problem? If so, how did you come about your solution?

Also, I discovered that I can not use a mouse and I think the Blaster Virus is a video game title.

Thank you, Ladies and Gents, for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
White boy with baggy pants.

In the future? Tech questions should be asked on a tech forum. This forum is primarily about the programming that is shown on Cartoon Networks Toonami and Adult Swim programming blocks.

Now, for a CD drive to play an AUDIO(redbook) CD, like what you get at you're favorite music store for $15.00, it uses a different cable that the ribbon cable that it uses to transfer data.
PRINT THIS PART OUT FOR EASY REFERENCE

Turn off you're computer and unplug the power cord from the back of the case.

Remove the side panel.

Look at the back your CD-ROM/CD-R/RW/DVD drive, you will see a semi-transparent power connector with 4 wires coming out of it and a grey ribbon cable about 2" wide. You should also see a 3rd cable with a 4-pin connector that is about 1/2" wide, the cable itself is about the size of an artists pencil lead, that snakes down from your optical drive to a similar connector on your sound card(or motherboard if you use integrated sound). This is the cable that carries redbook class audio from the optical drive to the sound card. If you don't have one of these you have 2 options:

1)rip the CD into lossless WAV format and then compress it with some form of lossless codec(I think OGG is lossless, but I may be wrong about that) then you can listen to it with your favorite audio program.

2)you can install that cable

I would choose option 1 but that's me.

BTW, this is the internet. Accents and methods of speaking don't translate. Type clearly and get you're message across so that some other bloke doesn't have to translate it before we can understand.

IT'S CALLED ENGLISH!!!!!!!!
LEARN IT!!!!!!!!!!

What audio programs do you have installed on your computer?

Winamp and Musicmatch Jukebox are very good ones. I strongly recommend those.

I doubt it has anything to do with a ribbon cable but I wonder... is your CD rom connected to the Sound card? It should be unless its a home built system and that step was neglected...

Get iTunes. It's free, and you can rip all your CDs with only one mouse click.

Doesn't iTunes put identifying data in the file so that if it shows up everywhere they can track it to you?

Winamp rips just fine anyway, you don't want to rip directly to MP3. You want to rip the audio in an uncompressed state, i.e. WAV, free winamp only does this at 2x but the pro version can rip much faster. Once you have it in an uncompressed form you can compress to you're favorite format. OGG is good because, AFAIK, it's a lossless compression format and is also fairly stanard and winamp plays it right out of the box.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I once again recommend Musicmatch. It has a free built-in CD ripper. Just put in the CD and the "Copy From CD" button appears as soon as the Jukebox boots up.

I understand your pain. I find that rather annoying sometimes.
