No. More government = Less privacy.

The government is big enough as it is, maybe even too big. Just give it a little rest...

I fail to see how establishing a scientific paragovernment organization would decrease privacy.

Or are you afraid that the evil ninja robot laser sharks will watch you from their home in the sea?

wow talk about moronic. Are you afraid NOSA would be spying on you while you take a swim or something? Be more afraid of the homeland defense security agency thingy that bush is getting going. they'll dseal your privacy before the oceans do.

Homeland Security=good.

Some of the things that they might gain access to=bad.

I'm actually in a class about Homeland Security right now. Our final semester project is to draw up a realistic plan for a town the size of Columbia, Missouri.

Oh, and Homeland Defense I've learned doesn't just mean outside terrorists. It means defending against things like the D.C. snipers and others that would wreck the flow of public life. I never thought of that before.

Speaking of that I can't believe no one is worried about what is going to happen when we start this war. As soon as Bagdad is bombed, I'm sure many Terrorist cells will see this as a last straw and start attacking all over the world.

War is such a waste. A waste of lives and money. First we bomb the hell out of somewhere and then we end up rebuilding it a few months later.
Those smart bombs aren't cheap you know.

If we spent as much on the space program as we did on wars we'd have set foot on Mars by now.

Yes, it sucks, and I don't like the fact that the people died, but I think we've got a pretty good track record going. Since the 70s, there have been hundreds of shuttle missions, and all the shuttles are the same basic design, but very, very few fatal incidents (Have there been any other than the Big Two?). To have a space shuttle last for 24 years, and a large number (Zechs, I believe it was 28 missions since the last major overhaul/upgrade) of successful flights, ended by one tragedy is not cause for very much alarm. Inspection, yes, but panic, no. Fortunately, I don't think it will hurt the space program much. NASA recovered from the Challenger, and, for all that they are speaking too much, the media is giving the right idea. It's clear there was a problem, but it's being investigated and fixed, and life and exploration will go on.

Actually, this is the first one since the Challenger. People say these thigs keep happening but this is the first one in about 18 years! Though it is sad Crying or Very sad

They just repeat the same 'facts' over and over and over . . .

That is true, on Channel 10, they just kept showing the same video over and over, but it was kind of interesting. NASA officials say some of the orange insolation coolant thingy hit the left wing at the launch and it may have damaged the heat-resistant tiles and it came off in re-entry, causing the shuttle to fall appart.

Oh and by the way, did anyone see the NASA Press Confrence?

You didn't think that. The New Yorker had an article on it.

And remember kids...

Coincidence but on the day the shuttle came down and the images of the vapur trail etc. were being shown, I was watching Mushroom Samba and almost the exact same image of the shuttles vapour trail was on the TV when the bebop crashes, vapour trails and all, I turned over and there was another vapour trail, but it was real Sad

In another episode of Cowboy Bebop, they use a rebuilt space shuttle. You get 1 guess which one.

Well, seeing as how it was rebuilt a surprising number of times by NASA, it makes a good inside joke.

After the fact, it makes the repair guy seem almost godlike . . . Laughing
