Post subject: Japan has met their match!(Maybe)
|
|
|

Alright, Japan has been numero one in the fields of 2-D and 3-D animation, separately and together. But I believe one country is coming up to be better, in graphics and such. Yes, one of my parents' homeland, Korea. I heard of this movie called Wonderful Days, which I thought has kicked FF:TSW in the sack. Yes, that's right. Anyway, the storyline isn't that much, but it's somewhat better than TSW. It may not gross alot, but it's supreme. I think the only way I can get a Legal copy is by going to my mom or all 23 korean stores in the small city of Hinesville. Next, Please! |

I think you're forgetting that the Final Fantasy film is a few years old now so the technology has moved on so...yeah, yatta yatta yaata and so forforth. So obviously it's going to look better etc. because it's newer...
But the images are pretty, they remind me of the glass paintings they used to use in the special effects industry
Anyway, good luck to this film...looks pretty.. _________________ rednekbob9: 1: You're Female

With Korea doing sub-contract work for both Japan and USA studios for so long, it's about time they started putting out homegrown movies that get noticed.
Having seen it, I can agree that the story itself is a bit lackluster, and it can't seem to decide whether it wants to be CGI, cel-shaded or traditional 2D cel (digitally painted, of course), but the visuals, when they mesh together, are stunning.
The official Region-3 DVD release (with English subtitles) is available commercially. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

I don't get the whole Region's thing...so any chance of this film coming over stateside? Seems very interestesting and the animation I saw from the trailer is amazingly fluid. |

It's certainly possible that someone will license it. Central Park Media has been looking into acquiring Korean films.
ADV has already licensed a film titled My Beautiful Girl, Mari and are looking into a limited theatrical release.
The biggest stumbling block right now: the Korean industry is still new at the storywriting game. It leads to the same type of problems American animated films have had lately- http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/international/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1962576. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. From what I've heard of it, it will be just like Final Fantasy. Very pretty pictures and very bad story. I've heard this from several locations so until I start hearing otherwise this will be me judgement of the movie was well.
Besides if it is any good, thinking this way will make it 10x better. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

not definately, you could be so prejudice as to miss the "good" points of the film. _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. ... you do seem very pessimistic actually no... you would be more paying atention to the animation than the story since you are a graphic student. _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. I don't really like to read reviews of movies because they tend to influence my own decision. Now that I as well have read relatively negative reviews about the story, I keep thinking the plot sucks. And if I think that while I watch the movie, the movie won't seem that good. That's why I want to just watch trailers and the movie on a clean slate, as to make my own opinion of it.
From what I've seen, it seems to be a lot like Minority Report, which had a semi-vapid plot, but extremely nice special effects. Did anyone notice that one vertical flying vehicle in Wonderful Days? It reminds me of the stuff from Mniority Report. |

Well, reviews have been known to throw you off. They say that some are good and you think it sucks. Some say its crap when its good. My friend told me the best advice I should have listen to: Don't listen to what others say. It's a good thing to do. |
