Is it true? Is this Toonami's final night? I'm not gonna say why did this happen, but I will ask how. How was the decision made? Where will everyone go? Is this the thanks we get as Toonami faithful? This is complete and total bullshit. I'm posting this everywhere; We should all remain Toonami Faithful whether this is the end or not.

As most everyone has hopefully seen, Toonami on TV has gone out with a literal "Bang."

www.toonami.com now redirects to Toonami Jetstream, whose programming continues as usual.

So long and thanks for all the fish, Tom & Co. Sad

Nobu, good to see you. I hope this unfortunate development will bring more vets out of the woodwork.

The hosts looked sad.
At least Toonami got a send off unlike Miguzi.

With Toonami gone and ASA crumbling, I just feel empty.

im soo torn, im so glad i found this site. Ive been crying for almost an hour now. Was this announced to anyone before hand? or was it sudden. I dont have cable tv anymore, but I grew up on thundercats and jonny quest, and this really hits me in the gut. Toonami got me into DBZ and Gundam Wing, which pushed me on to all of the other anime I watch. I would not be the geek I am now if it wasnt for tom1 and tom2 (i didnt really know tom 3 or 4). Sorry for the rant, i needed to do it somewhere. I havent been this sad since they stopped airing freakazoid

There's no telling how long this had been planned; it wasn't instantaneous, because it takes time to produce those clips.
But word of something in the air didn't really get out until Friday afternoon, with the big scoop coming Saturday morning at Cartoon Network's panel at Anime Weekend Atlanta.

That it has... Last night was one of the saddest nights I've had in a long time. Many of us have grown up on Toonami, and I joined this board when I was 11, during its initial existence (before becoming part of infolink).

I've been absent for so long, but once I heard the news last night, and watched the final moments, I knew an entire generation would be united.

I am sad to see Toonami go since it has been an important part of the development of the market for anime. However, I can't say it wasn't time to end its run.

I'm a robotics engineer, I'm a member on a team that won an international robotics competition last year. And the first robot I ever designed was a new kind of Clyde.

Toonami has effected my life in more ways then i can imagine. And last night as I watched the end it felt like I had lost a great friend. I just want to say thank you to all the people that made it happen over the past 11 years, and thanks to all of you who shared my passion for the block that meant so much to so many.

Your not dead yet TOM, not as long as I can still run reruns in my mind.

So will the forums still run under the digital arsenal site, or will they go down eventually as well?

Well, Jetstream is still operating under the Toonami moniker so it isn't like there is absolutely no reason for this site to exist.

Dunno what to say yet, other than it's a terrible thing to have slept through what turned out to be the block's final airing. I was under the impression that the "important message" was gonna be some Web-related dealie, so checking out the Arsenal at 6AM this morning provided quite a shock...

This is gonna weigh heavy on my mind. I will always love animation, but it's never been my primary hobby, and my time's been severely limited these past few years, to the point where I only catch the stuff when aired on broadcast television. Even then, I gotta tape it for viewing at a more convenient time. I've already taken one break from the medium, and it was the Toonami block that brought me back for this current eight-year run. Even though I haven't relied on Toonami itself much for my fix in recent years, it sorta feels fitting to take another breather with this news...

...but hey, no matter what I end up doing, I'll still be hanging around here until Tyler finally closes up shop. This community's been the best part of the whole experience after all!

And with that, a toast to Toonami, and all the good that it produced this past decade!

While I can't say that I was a fan of what Toonami became in it's later years. Toonami will always hold a special place in my heart for introducing me to Gundam Wing and Cowboy Bebop as well as showing me there was more to anime then DBZ. All I can say is so long old friend. Sad

Toonami helped feed my interest in Japanese animation, which in turn helped feed my interest in Japanese stuff, which after a long and winding road through college and majoring in Asian studies, has led me to where I'm sitting right now.

That is, south of Osaka on the coast in a small fishing village teaching English and studying Japanese like a maniac.

Animation is certainly not the only reason I love Japan, but it was sure a big jumping off point.

This is of course not mentioning anything about any of the cool stuff they used to run that was cool but not anime.

Hate to see you go Toonami, but thanks tons for the good times. The stuff you showed helped inspire me to take an interest in something I wouldn't normally have found and really did give my life and personality a good jump start. Maybe someday you'll be back in a new form.
