I can't say that I've seen any, and I just got done watching like four hours of CN. That's the most I've ever watched CN since way back when TOM1 was there, brings back memories...
But no, I haven't. |

I saw a Trigun commercial during last night's AS, between Inuyasha and CB (to be exact =D ), and changed the schedule accordingly. March 31 @ midnight EST. |

i've seen the 30-second spot for the show, and it looks like they're pushing it as a serious anime, so i can't wait to hear reactions from the first episode... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

trigun is I think an advertising marketers nigtmare. when it's silly it's so beyond silly that the closest thign to serious is just less silly. But half way through the series flips so dramaticly and becomes to dramaticly serious that the funniest moments are just about not dramatic. This is hard to make up a single comemrcial to really focus on both sides, and since its going into the action part of AS, the commercials will focus much heavier on the last half of the series. _________________ "Veni. yea, it would be rather pointless to advertise it as a comedy, but perhaps they should've taken the inuyasha approach, who's adult swim ads survey both action and comedy...
it's not really that big a deal though, either way they'll get the same basic crowd to check it out... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

Well, I'm only a newb to the site. =p
Anyway, I haven't seen the dub yet, but discerning from the 30-spot I saw, it doesn't seem to be that bad. I've only seen subs up to episode eight. =o |

I'm going to second CC's comment. It's nice to get a new guy who doesn't type like he's never seen a computer before. REALLY nice.
And may I just say a big "I told you so!" to all the vets on the board. I said 2 months ago that GRW and/or Kenshin and Trigun would bring in good new members. Not like anyoue argued with me, but still . . . _________________ anime is teh s uck

You make the feeling of being newb lose it's meaning...sniff sniff.
I think it's funny, a lot of people will recognize Trigun when it starts solely by the main proganist's name, Vash the Stampede. His name should rake in a lot of money for the network, especially when adding in the cool factor of the main character.
It's amazing how many people don't know what Trigun is, but know who (or heard the name) Vash the Stampede is. |

My best friend back in Illinois had never seen or heard of Trigun, but he knew who Vash the Stampede was because he had seen the action figures (both the Toy Tribes one and the McFarlane Toys one) and the cool mini-busts.
BTW, I have almost every Trigun action figure that they've released (except for the McFarlane version (because I don't like it as much) and the new 12 figure (because it was too expensive at the time)), and I have both versions of the Vash mini-bust. If I could get my hands on the gun model kit, I'd feel my Trigun obsession would be complete...
Another BTW, I believe the dub of Trigun is pretty good. Trigun and Cowboy Bebop are two of a very few series that I can interchange between the Japanese and English versions very easily (unlike a certain dubbing of a certain Meiji-era samurai epic that shall remain nameless... grrrr)

yeah, i haven't seen most of Trigun, but it's a pretty good dub, like cowboy bebop. So yeah, it'll be interesting to see Trigun on AS. As for the promos, i haven't seen any yet. |
