Ah, works now, thanks. I really wish Ryoko would geta bigger part. It's not JUST because I'm a fan but...it's just. I know they're trying to move everything to be bigger and better and part of a final plan but...I miss Ryoko and the smaller cast of the original OVA
Blah! I'm being a cry-baby. Can't wait for the next episode...
Surely it wasn't all this complicated when it was conceptualised was it 0_o
Go, go, go Ryoko kick some major butt! Go get Tenchi and live in a mountain hut! _________________ rednekbob9: 1: You're Female

Mihoshi...and Tenchi? Bleh, but to each his own I guess. I suppose you Knights are pleased Mihoshi's finally getting a more major role...? _________________ rednekbob9: 1: You're Female

Indeed! Any opportunity to see Lady Mihoshi fleshed out is reason to celebrate!
On that note, the .jpg of the cover art doesn't do justice in showing how sheer her top actually is. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

umm...I've lost touch of Tenchi over the last year - but I saw the fansubs of the first three...
so my questions are:
1) Is Funimation going to bring back the original voice talent? Do we know yet?
2) Date for release in America yet? doubt there is...but an estimation perhaps?
3) How many episodes released in Japan so far?
I would look through the past posts myself...but I'm very very afraid of seeing spoilers...<shudders in fear> |

They swear they're going to try, and put in more effort to do so than they did for GXP. But it's still too early to know how it'll turn out.

If I had to guess, late 2005 at the earliest.

Four.

If you've already seen the first three episodes, there shouldn't be anything spoileriffic to you, at least on this messageboard.
The off-site links I listed are clearly marked as spoiler-filled. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Tenchi is so cool! That show has the makings of a good soap without the boring silence. I like Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe, and Tenchi in Tokyo. They were all great and I really do miss that show!!! Does anyone know what's going on with Tenchi? That needs to be put back on air!! |

All the Tenchi shows (and movies!) have been airing endlessly, uncut and in English, exclusively on the International Channel since the beginning of the year.
And the DVD's can be found for less than a sawbuck almost anywhere that carries anime discs. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Amazon Japan started taking orders over the weekend, but I didn't have any info from the official announcement until now:
According to tenchi-web.com the release date of episode 18 is December the 22nd. The title is: "Raburabu taisakusen ~ Shûen no hajimari". "The epic battle of lovey love ~ The beginning of the end" (rough translation).
And a thumbnail of the DVD cover (as assumed, it's Washu's turn):
:updated with the big picture 11/23/2004:
:added 10/29/2004: AIC has added the episode info to their front page-
:Spoilerized for your protection:
*Mashisu and all her followers start the fight with the Masakis in order to execute the "I-absolutely-will-never-hand-my-sister-to-anybody-else Mission" and stop Tenchi and other members of the Masaki family.
But this mission ends very quickly and easily and so it happens that all Mashisu's members are captured and held captive in the Masakis' living room. At the same time Misao is irritated as he was waiting aboard the Chobimaru for his sister's arrival but there is no news at all. More than enough time has passed for Mihoshi's shuttle to arrive from earth, so why is there no response? Suddenly on the bridge of the Chobimaru the sensors detect a strong energy approaching...
It turns out to be Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki who are yelling: "Hand us Tenchi!"
Ayeka is astonished at what Washu is murmuring to herself: "I see, they try to eliminate Tenchi by pretending it's an accident".
But Mihoshi's shuttle is still there [on Earth]. And suddenly, Mihoshi shows up...* _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

I agree. Tenchi Muyo is a great series. I think Tenchi should marry the wildcat Ryoko. _________________ "Charles Xaiver did more for mutants than you could ever know. My only regret is that he had to die for our dream to live." -Magneto, X Men3:The Last Stand |
