I think I can top the worst gift. X-mas of '94, I was told my grandma had died the night before. Hows that for a gift?

Shocked I'm going to go scrub my brain with a wire brush now. Back later. Razz

Can't...think...far back...beer destroyed...brain.

As far back as I can remember (which is, like, Xmas '90), the worst gift I have ever received has to have been a package of fake vomit. Wait, no, it was that friggin car window guy that pulls his pants down when you squeeze a bulb! Something like that from my stepfather...who seems to think that I actually LIKE getting joke crap gifts from Spencer's Gifts. What I would like from them is one of those trippy water fountains, or metal dragon figures, or talking KISS dolls.

Anyway, yeah. Suction-cup-car-window-mooning-fat-guy.

Worst gift? Clothing. Just. Clothing. I hate getting clothing. Espeically when you're under 10 years old and your uncles and aunts all give you CLOTHING. Don't they know that to get on your good side they gotta give you TOYS?

Other than that, I really haven't gotten crappy gifts.

Well, I got something rather terrible from my grandmother this year. I really don't know why you even pretend to try when you've got 60+ grandkids, but whatever. It was a twelve piece puzzle made out of blokcs, that could be truned on their sides to make other pictures. The kicker, it's a sports (because we all know how socially athletic I am!). I believe the box said ages. 6 and up, maybe 4.

I don't know. I don't really know anybody that can give worse gifts than my grandmother.

Examples:

1.) a six pack of toothbrushes given to my 10 year old cousin. The running joke of the family now is, when asked, "What do you want for Christmas?" to answer, "Not toothbrushes."

2.) Yesterday, I walked in on my aunt going through the bags of clothes my grandmother got her for Christmas. She was putting most of them into another bag marked "Salvation Army." Everyone in the family can relate; my sister was throwing me most of the clothes my grandmother got her. I was just sitting there, puzzled how grandma could get me a skirt that's size 2 along with pants that are size 10. She even gave me a pair of pants that she claimed were a little tight on her- the woman is 5"1' and 100 lbs-- I myself am quite a bit larger than that and have been ever since I was 12. What WAS she thinking???????

But it gets worse....

3.)She got my 17 year old cousin a Wal-Mart gift card. Now, that's not necessarily a bad gift except....

my cousin had shoplifted at Wal-Mart once and was kicked out permanently. And yes, Grandma knew, and no, she was actually trying to get my cousin a decent gift. She's not diabolical.

Just a bad gift giver.

As for this year's worth of bad gifts, I got bath products from practically every one that's related to me. I don't use bath products. I don't use that smelly lotion crap- in fact, it burns my hands. I never use that spray crap, and I prefer bar soap to shower gel. Yet bath products constitute nearly half the gifts I was given this year. To add further insult, my aunt just sent me a $20 gift card to Bath and Body Works. Even my grandmother's set of missized clothes was appreciated more than all that junk.

Anybody willing to trade $20 for a shopping spree at Bath and Body Works? You know my email.

Since I don't celebrate Christmas, I'll use my birthday.

In 2001, I got nothing for my birthday.

(Little did my parents know I would later nag them for a GameCube next month Wink )

Yes, I know a lot of you older folks out there consistently get nothing for their birthdays. (Noboyuki, Night....) Well, by know you should know what a proper birthday gift for your age should be.

Be it not a technology-based gift, it probably starts with "s" and ends with "ual favors".
