Well it's kinda a blunt question but as of right now it looks good. I will give you my feelings (if anyone cares) after i see more of the show.
P.S. Try to add more depth to your topics. More people will respond that way. _________________ "The worst enemy of the night -

Indeed. You could easily have added your take to the current Kikaider thread:

I like Kikaider, but I think this series fits Toonami more than Adult Swim. The cursing and blood is EXTREMELY mild, and unfortunately, that's the only adult content you can get out of this series. With very few edits, this could easily fit on Toonami (just like Yu Yu Hakusho). _________________ Toonami visual schedule - UPDATED AUGUST 2, 2015 |

Vash, when you make a thread, try to make the subject more specific. All you needed to do was to make it something like: "Kikaider: Love it or Hate it?"
Well I'm on the subject of your posts, could you maybe cut the last two lines out of your signiture, please. Anything more than four lines gets kind of annoying, not that your overall posts wouldn't take up any less space anyway... _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

Okay that one really blew me away. I can't believe they actually went that far. Has to be a first for CN to suggest anything like that. _________________ Bang. |

I think I'm just gonna quote TZ member "DianaGohan"'s stream-of consciousness synopsis:
Quote: |
The S (in TV-PG S) is for Sex in the Kikaider Episode Review of "Machine That Dreams".
Well, today was certainly an intresting episode, beginning with a scene on Dr Gil's new project that he plans to use to enslave the earth (or something along those lines) and Sabaru coming in. And we get more on how he refuses to obey's Gil's intsruction to destroy Kikaider immediatley (good character development, BTW) and then walks off, but not before Gil sends a Gamera robot (looked like it at least) after him. We then see the underground lab where the gang has been hiding out, as Mitsuko is completing the Gemmni circuit. As Kikaider gives thanks to everyone for helping him, a converstaion with Mitsuko (about how the Gemmni allows him to feel all the feelings of a human and he does not want that taken away from him) leads to a... well use you're imaginations people! Obviously they were... doing it, but it was shown in a very tasteful way (unlike some things would *cough* Matrix Reloaded *cough*) and then Jiro goes out on a ride and ends up confronting Sabaru again. After a very well directed fight scene, Hikaider explains to Kikaider why he hesitates in killing him (since he wants to kill him at his maximum and completley fill out his duties as a robot). Some Gamera killing, Mitsuko interfering, Kikaider getting a good hit in later, Hikaider is taken over for a minute by... Professor Komyoji? A very well done episode that leads to the finale tommorow (technically there's still the OAV episodes, but there diffrent from this story). I give this one an A. |
And a little more on the actual images shown:
Quote: |
It's all in the symbolism. Look at the scenes interspersed with that repair scene. A pointy lab instrument. Two trees intertwined. Combine that with the silhouette and the dazed but slightly hopeful look on Jiro's face.
Hearkens back to the old days of when motion pictures would do the same thing, with trains entering tunnels and fireworks being used to tell the audience, "Though we can't show it to you, they are indeed doing the deed." |
