You are a child of the '90's if:

You remember watching Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Pinky and the Brain , and Two Stupid Dogs.

AAAAAAAH real monsters.

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "Sike!"

You just cant resist finishing this... "Iiiiiiin west philladelphia born and raised..."

You remember TGIF on ABC. Step by Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World

You remember when 2Pac and Selena died.

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.
you were the coolest kid ever if you could beat it in one computer class *I'm totally gonna go out and buy that game now.*

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record "Your FAVORITE song of ALL time".

"Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet. He's a Hero.*I used to wake up early to watch this show!*

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.

You remember when super nintendo's and Sega Genisis became popular.

you used to play Sonic the Hedgehog

You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos... but never taped anything funny.

You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , (and maybe even 3)........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

You remember watching The Magic School Bus, Wishbone, and Reading Rainbow on PBS.

You remember when Yomega Yo-Yos were cool.

You remember those Where's Waldo books..

You remember when Mortal Kombat Was "Da Bomb"!

You remember eating Warheads sour candys

You remember watching the 1st Batman, Aladdin, Ninja Turtles, and 3 Ninjas movies

You remember Ring Pops.

You remember drinkin' Fruitopia and Surge.

You BEGGED your parents to get you "the Grape Escape" game

If you remember when every thing was "da BOMB"

when they made the new lunchables so that you could make tacos and pizza!!

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

Writing M.A.S.H. notes.

Mousetrap was the coolest game EVER!

Making those little paper fortune cookie finger game things.. and then predicting your life with them.

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and/or collected "Pogs"

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.
And Windows 95 was the best.

You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles

You had a favorite New Kid on the block, and you knew all of there names

Michael Jordan was a king.

Or you called out "Jordan" when you pretended to "dunk it"

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!*

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)

You remember when the new Beanie Babies and talking Elmo were always sold out.

You collected those Beanie Babies.

Growing Pains.

Carebears and The Gummy Bear show.

Gak was the coolest thing invented.

Lambchop's song never ended.

The old dollar bills.

Silver dollars, were cool to have.

You remember a time before the WB.

You collected all the Troll dolls.

You owned a portable tape player.

You know what an original walkman is.

You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.

You owned a trapperkeeper

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You know the significance of the number 23.

You went to McD's to play in the playplace.

You remember playing on merry go rounds...at the play ground
and see-saws

When we were younger:

Before the MySpace frenzy...

Before the Internet & text messaging...

Before Sidekicks & iPods...

Before MIKE JONES...

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX...

Before Sponge Bob

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

When light up sneakers were cool.

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs .

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.

When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.

Way back.

when it was all about N64.

WHEN YOU TRADED POKEMON CARDS FOR A LIVING

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear

Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

I feel old now.. /sighs

Oregon Trail day? We could only play it when we finished whatever pointless assignment was given to us. Talk about motivation to get things done though...

Dreadnot wrote:

Slap bracelets were a '90s fad? I coulda sworn they were banned in my school before 1990...

Dreadnot wrote:

Dreadnot wrote:

Windows 3.11 w/DOS 6.21 > Win 95

Dreadnot wrote:

They were also the only brand sold in my school store, so there wasn't much choice...

They're not cool anymore? What about pumping air into shoes?

Dreadnot wrote:

I think the 16-bit wars impacted the '90s more than anything else...

Me too...

We played that in our mighty Apple IIe lab. Each computer had two 5.25 inch floppy drives. I was always a banker and would buy my food at forts instead of going hunting.

R.L. Stine was the man.

Dreadnot wrote:

The original cast was the best. Back when Rita was the villian and not Lord Zed (whom we called The Big Z).

Dreadnot wrote:

You dare forget the original Gameboy and how it crushed Sega's Gamegear even though the Gamegear had a color screen.

Dreadnot wrote:

I knew a kid who memorized every line from that movie.

Dreadnot wrote:

I blame my sister for getting me hooked on those.

Dreadnot wrote:
You remember those Where's Waldo books..
The Great Waldo Search! I could find Waldo, the wizard, and the scroll on each page.

Dreadnot wrote:
You remember Ring Pops.
Those are still around.

Dreadnot wrote:

Don't remind me.

Dreadnot wrote:

AOL version 2.0 baby! My 14.4K modem ruled all.

Dreadnot wrote:

I hated Rugrats, and the Rugrats Rap was evil. Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles were fun.

Dreadnot wrote:
You remember a time before the WB.
Before the WB and Kids' WB. Before Toonami. There was The Disney Afternoon and Fox Kids battling for control of the afternoon kids' viewership. Gargoyles lost to Power Rangers and Disney axed the show. Now Disney has Power Rangers, but there's still no new Gargoyles.

VHS was king for a while, but I'm glad those days are gone.

In 1997 we paid $350 for our first DVD player. And it couldn't even output DTS audio.

In 1996 the summer Olympics were in Atlanta, and the 1998 winter Olympics were in Nagano.

Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane.

Jeez, you kids... you don't even know old yet! Not unless you remember who Mr. Hooper was on Sesame Street, or remember seeing Bill Cosby on "Picture Pages", or the g*dd*mn SMURFS! But that's probably too oldschool for most of you "young whipper-snappers"...

I know another series you forgot to add... The Pirates of Dark Water! And maybe even The Adventures of Pete and Pete, worth mentioning if only for Artie, "the Strongest Man...(dramatic pause)... in the WORLD!"

I was a teenager all through the 90's (though some purists might not count the ages of 10-12 "teenaged", I was still in the double-freaking-digits). I guess I was supposed to have grown out of cartoons and video games by then, but I think my obsession with all these things just got progressively worse as the decade rolled on...

Oh, you also forgot Freakazoid! and the original Batman: The Animated Series...

...that is all for now... you may go about your business...

*blinks* Jonny!

Yeah I forgot a few shows..

Salute your Shorts
Hey Dude
Pete and Pete

I miss Freakazoid!

I would also like to add:

Super Mario (Snes)
Final Fantasy 2 (Snes)
Dragon Warrior (Snes)
Mission Impossible (Nes)

TV Shows:
Gilligans Island (older I know but was on all the time)
Full House
Family Matters
Teen Angel
Dr.Quin Medicen Woman (It was a really good show!)

Before Chuck Norris was an unstopable killing machine and was just a 'Texas ranger'
