Through study and practice, I've trimmed my 40 minute commute to as little as half an hour; mainly through the observation of potential slowdown areas and the dodging of old people in their Lincoln Towncars.
I drive at a constant 60MPH (100km/h for Dill) when not stopped at lights. I feel comfortable that I am able to keep control of my vehicle with quick reaction time at that speed.
Unfortunately, Officer Friendly didn't feel the same way.
I saw the flashing lights about half a mile behind me and thought nothing of it.
Three minutes later, he actually catches up to me and I pull over.
Officer Friendly: "License and registration please". (I happily oblige.) "I clocked you going at 63 in a 45. Took me a while to catch up to you 'cause of all the traffic."
Now, the responses were flying throughout my head.
"Yeah, you're able to go faster if you pass all the slow cars."
"...so what you're saying is I wasn't going fast enough?"
"Should'a followed my lead."
All I managed was a Rock-style eyebrow raise.
Hello traffic school (the first edition was much funnier).
