hobbittses? I just don't know about you guys sometimes...
In that situation taking a life is moral, as in so many others. Frankly I don't think what is moral and immoral makes sense to discuss. It's entirely subjective, in each persons different view of reality what is and isn't right is different, I suppose we can all discuss how well our morals overlap but to what end?

Shoot the guy's gun out of his hand.
If necessary, shoot his arms and legs so he can inflict minimal damage through other means.
Let the police or Batman take care of the rest.
