Thats IT! I can no longer support the Dub. They completely killed that scene. OMG OMG OMG!!!!! And they broke it up with a commercial break as well. ARGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more. Go buy the DVDs and download what hasn't been put out. What'd they do to the scene? And can the dub be forgiven by the DVD versionof the dub? _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

They edited out the knife. It looked like milly was trying to pound his face in instead of trying to make his head a pin cushin. And as usual, the guns look like shitty laser guns. But whats worse than that is when flay and sai were arguing. She was supposed to say 'I really loved you' but instead they cramed in "But Sai, I really only had feeling for you''. Yeah right. What, now they can't have characters showing affection? The uncut DVDs should be ok but this is insulting. Don't hold out much hope for episode 35. _________________ I'm getting too old for this. :SNAP: OH GOD, MY HIP!

Saying you only had feelings for one person over ther other is pretty much saying the same thing. Kinda has more of an impact. Remember that differnt translators are going to have different interpretations of certain lines. And sometimes different lines sound better in english when said a different way.
Here's an example. A guy asks a girl to go out with him in Japanese. The translator wants to translate it into english. He comes up with two different options. Which one does he use? (and yes, this is a horrible bastardization of ctrlaltdel, but I'm working from memory and it's late) "OMG! Do j00 want to sex0rcize?!?!?!" doesn't sound good. "Hey, how about getting some coffee and hitting the arcade?" sounds alright.
Back to SEED- "I really loved you" sounds like a line from a bad daytime soap opera. "I really only had feelings for you" sounds like a line from a nighttime soap opera (there's only one right now, and it involves housewives). Do the math. haven't said much in here since last month, so lemme catch up with my comments on the series...
being that i don't care much for mecha series, i have to rely on the non-action episodes for entertainment, and the last two weeks have delivered...athrun's realization of what he thinks he's done to kira, mirrele's (sic) reaction to tolle's (sic?) death, and the entire sequence that played out involving her, flay, sai, and the enemy pilot (deraka?) had me on the edge of my seat...
despite the edits that seem to be ruining it for just about everyone else, i don't really have much of a problem with what they've been doing...i admit, the flurescent guns are a bit tacky, but there's so many scenes with the lights 'mysteriously' gone that one can derive that they're the real deal...the knife edits were preceeded with a zoom-in of it on a table, so i think that was left in as a deliberate hint to those observant enough to realize what was going on...
but really, what the hell are they doing leaving an enemy soldier unattended in a room with a knife and a loaded gun anyway? _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')
