But you did once say on the old board how there should be no moral 'wrongs' in regard to sex. I believe you said something along the lines of 'everything goes.' |
My morality standards are quite liberal, and I believe in the freedom of sexual expression as long as that freedom does not extend to harming another person or living thing. It's hard to explain this philosophy to people used to living by either religious or other moral standards, but it's more or less hedonism meets naturalism.
Once again, people often fear difference, which I believe is why people mock me for enjoying the sort of fantasy material and entertaining the theories I do. If I have in any way personally injured any of you with my controversial views, I apologize. I cover myself in barbed wire to protect myself from the years and years of threats and insults I've gotten online. _________________ I have not yet begun to bitch. |

Right, you all heard the computer! Let's talk about hobbit sex! _________________ "KUSANAGI!" |

o.....k. Anyways, I saw it yesterday and it sure did keep me for 3 hours. No words can describe Helm's Deep, but my only gripe is they stopped the movie where the book was about 2/3 done. That's odd seeing as they ended Fellowship about 1 chapter in to the 2nd book. _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite. |

Sooo...that means that the last movie should be about four and a half hours long. I think I'll skip the drink next time. I might explode. _________________ I have not yet begun to bitch. |

Well, pardon my interjection here, but your friends are likely younger folks who are accustomed to the MTV generation of quick blurbs of info and fast stories that are filled with violence and action and sex and not much else, and movies that only last for an hour and a half.
The Two Towers didn't feel like a 3 hour movie. I swear the time was up before I even knew it. Sure, it WAS long, but those of us who are mature enough to sit down and simply absorb themselves in such a sweeping and epic plot of LotR will enjoy it. Tell your friends to try reading the books sometime; it might teach them some much needed PATIENCE.
Life is NOT go go go quick drive thru all the time. Sometimes you just gotta sit down, clear your mind, and let a wonderful story carry you through it. Those that CAN'T do that with LotR don't deserve to see it; they are NOT who those films and books are for. |
They ALL read the books....
I said half of my friends.... All my H.S friends liked it but thought it was too long, all my old school friends loved it, like I did.
But I saw it twice! I mean c mon, The 2nd time you see a movie your telling me that it will fly right by like it was nothing? It was a great movie by all means, it just... well... was a bit tedious at times, more on the second viewing than the first. I loved the movie, my friends loved the movie too. I guess some people can enjoy long films, some can't. People are different....
As for me, I remain neutral on this topic. |

Saw it, thought it kicked ass, but noticed where it ended. This will be where the 3rd movie starts. |

Geez, it seems like with where they left off that they'll need two intermissions in the next one (can't remember the name).
Anyway, saw Two Towers--awesometastic movie. I think the Ents were the best, strictly from a technical standpoint.

You got an intermission? I had to sit with my legs crossed for the whole thing! They really need to put those into the longer movies. I mean, I enjoyed watching the movie, but about a half hour from the end...yikes. _________________ I have not yet begun to bitch. |

No, but if it were half an hour longer, there would've been. I'm just saying the next one'll have to be hours or something. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

In the theater, it's more important to me that I catch as much as possible. This is also why I need someone else there who doesn't mind my comments.
*sigh* I really shouldn't have watched so much MST3K. |
ROFLMAO
At least I can keep my mouth shut.
But you're right, when you watch a lot of MST3k, you do start to do that to movies you see. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

I have a few questions about LOTR. I haven't read any of the books or seen either of the movies or know anything about the plot. But with all you guys getting exited over it, I thought I might get into it. Here goes:
1. Would it be better to read the books first, then watch the movies, or vice versa?
2. Are there books that take place before LOTR? And what are they?
3. How many books are there in the entire thing?
4. Are the games any good?
I think that's about it. Any insight would be appreciated. |
