...and I'm not pleased.

Is it that Speed Racer X thing that Nick premiered on their SLAM! block in 2002? Nope. It's actually a different remake coming next year.

And I'm not happy for this. Why? Well, read this snippet from the report on Toon Zone:

Quote:
The Animation Collective . . . was named as the animation studio for the new cartoon.

I'm sorry, but...no. Just no.

For those who don't know, TAC is responsible for shows such as Kappa Mikey and Ellen's Acres. Here are some samples of their works, just to show my point:

This uber-simplistic, substandard Flash animation style just doesn't fit for the Speed Racer franchise. This series needs a notch or two higher than that kind of level.

How could you not mention the cinematic classic that is Wulin Warriors?

I agree. Only uber-simplistic, substandard cel animation like the original show could work. Wink

In all seriousness though- yes, TAC is not a good studio.

I thought things couldn't get any worse after Speed Racer X...

It was kind of expected though, with the movie coming out next year.
No way Speed Racer Enterprises would pass up another opportunity to cash-in on that.
