Impressive... most impressive.
I only kept the Tenchi and Midnight Run: Special Edition tapes.
I also see one thing that is not like the others. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Very nice! I had to do the same "cleaning up around the house" before moving last year. My stash was mostly wrestling shows that I attended, a few of the Adult Swim April Fool's gags, and the late-night .hack//ROOTS run for whenever I get around to the G.U. games...
My big score was the TCM "Month of Miyazaki" recordings, which were most of his movies commercial-free. I'm actually working my way through those right now!
(Added later: Now that I think about it, Beefy actually has a few of my old tapes from the original Adult Swim Saturday block. According to messages, those were loaned out six years ago?! Man, how time flies...) _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

Yeah, I kept wanting to do something with those, but some other project kept getting in the way.
But now I've made them my top priority.
I actually wanted to have something ready in time for Adult Swim Action's 10th anniversary on Feb. 23rd, but I was sick that week and couldn't get anything done.
So it'll be delayed a week or two, but the next update on ASF will have some good nostalgia from 2002. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

I've got some VHS tapes around here as well, but almost certainly nothing Toonami-related. (There might some Kids WB or Sci-Fi Channel Saturday Anime stuff though.)
I'm pretty sure I have some tapes of Big O's first Adult Swim run, but I don't there's anything special about them. (I kind of wish I hadn't recorded them, since I didn't know AS owned the rights and would just repeatedly show them for years on end. Even without the first half. I might have recorded over something else to get them...)
I did, recently obtain a DVD-recorder (as in a DVD-to-TV box), so I'll be going through those tapes and transferring everything to DVD. _________________ Able and Baker is nice.

Huzzah! One project done, dozens more to go.
JJc14, you're lucky your Cartoon Network was in stereo back in 2002.
I didn't get stereo on mine until 2006.
I have a small pile of tapes myself, mostly from 2000-2001.
I remember recording Sailor Moon, the Tenchi series, Endless Waltz, Midnight Run Special Edition, New Year's Eve-il, Blue Sub 6, the TIEs, and The Brak Show.
If anybody has any Adult Swim Action stuff from 2003-2004 they'd like to let me borrow, let me know. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

Wow, I didn't intend to put pressure on you Beefy (or derail Dread's thread), but what a rush of nostalgia going through those videos! Great job on the quality too, as I figured some of the tapes were falling apart back then...
To think I was a freshman in college when the 2002 action block started, and I was working overnights stocking shelves at the time, hence the VCR purchase in the first place. The only reason I kept the original ASA lineup was because I liked the background music in the Outlaw Star promo, which was never available on Gogeta's/Zach's old Adult Swim site back then. After that, I decided to capture one night's lineup during each schedule change, thinking the block would be around for years. Guess I got that one wrong, eh?
Ten years already. Where does the time go?

Considering I didn't have Cartoon Network at all until the end of 2000, I suppose that was a bonus... =) _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

Dear lord!
I think I finally got rid of my bootleg Gundam Wing episodes when I bought the boxset. _________________ Bang.

I created an account just to say that you brought me back to my childhood just looking at your tapes, thank you!
