I'm sorta indifferent about Eureka Seven. I liked the characters and got sucked in during the last twenty or so episodes, but even now that it's over, I still couldn't tell you what exactly was going on during most of the series. I did miss one episode toward the end though, which may have been one of those "reveal all" eps, so if Adult Swim gives the series a second run, I'll try to seek it out and see if it sways my opinion...
Keep in mind that mecha really isn't my thing, and the above reflects my thoughts on most of what I've seen when it comes to the genre. Unlike Gundam though, I enjoyed E7 enough where if I found the PS2 games cheap, I'd probably give 'em a shot, so I guess that should count for something... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

Eureka Seven Vol. 1: New Wave(PS2 game) was OK, and it works great as a prequel to the series. I haven't checked out Vol. 2: New Vision(continues from vol. 1) yet, but it looks good as well. The mecha combat is pretty fun, and the story is interesting(same producer/writers from the series, I believe), but the human combat is horrid(yes, you get out of your LFO at points...). The voice work is also solid, although not everyone from the original cast reprises their roles. As for characters from the series, only Holland, Eureka, and Moondoggie are in Vol. 1. Moondoggie's VA is the same, but Holland is different, and Eureka never speaks(you'll see why when/if you play it). It is loads better than that crap Gundam SEED: Never Ending Tommorow game, though. _________________ "No, I told you that your posts showed that you lacked intelligence. The kids going to live with Rentons granddad was kinda cool. I wish they would've shed a little lit on what happen with the rest of Gekko State and the others.

I finally got around to re-watching the final episode(now with fullness). I was quite impressed with the ending(even moreso than the chopped one), mostly since we get to see a more complete explanation of Eureka becoming the next Control Cluster, as well as what happened to the kids, along with Renton/Eureka at the end(not to mention the whole love carved Moon thing...). It was a great ride... _________________ "No, I told you that your posts showed that you lacked intelligence. That's the opposite of telling you that you are right."-counterparadox

Why hello there. I'm late to the party because I watch anime in large chunks and tonight was the last 16 episodes for me.
So in the epilogue, we see a couple in a jeep by the lake (DON'T BLINK) and I assumed it was Dominic and Anemone. Wikipedia says otherwise. Hmm... thoughts anyone?
Other than that, the series really turned around and pulled itself together. All the random meandering threads tied together to show me there WAS a Bones plan in there (believe me at episode 14 or so I wasn't sure) from the "Renton wants to know about his father but everyone thinks he wants sex" to the soccer game to Sakuya's "We totally blew it!" there was a lot of funny stuff in the last half.
It also helped that Holland curtailed his child abuse. /tangent
The fights were nice, the wrapups were on everyone who mattered or at least the one's who you couldn't guess (Talho and Holland live happily ever after... while he beats their kids. Sorry. I'll stop. I'll try) their ends.
The only gripes I have with the series is that it takes its time, it spends a lot of episodes just talking, and by god there's 100 people in the Gecko's crew and I'll be damned if you couldn't cut half of them, combine roles, and save me a lot of "Umm.... that's not Moondoggie. It's... you know, I don't care." Then again it is anime so all those weaknesses are expected.
Oh and they killed Charles too soon. Or at all. Ok so his death hurt so I suppose they did their jobs as storytellers but Charles was the shit.
All in all thumbs up.
But I still haven't forgiven Bones for stealing the Big O's ending for Wolf's Rain. It sucked the first time! _________________ JKyle.com (Because bad things happen to good people) Cast in the Name of God
