Maybe they'll make an animated version of M*A*S*H too, just so they can play the theme song on TV before they pull the triggger.

Guns would be way too humane. Their deaths would have to invole fire, pain, and masses of rabid chipmunks.

And Death and Rebirth is actually two different little ova thingies. "Death" is a recap of the first 24 episodes. "Rebirth" is the first 45 minutes of "The End of Evangelion". Niether Death and Rebirth nor The End of Evangelion add anything to the original plot; End is just an alternate ending because nobody liked the ending. prolly cuz they didn't understand it. I'm not even sure what was supposed to have happened...

Sorry bout my neglegence of this whole web site, lol. I just don't come around as often as i'd like.

I've seen death and rebirth and that whole end of evangelion thing. The reason i'd like to see it on tv in general is mainly because i can't afford a box set, lol. I don't really care what channel, but i would consider adult swim capable of editing it to a bare minimum (most of the things needed to censor are nudity and blood, just cut a scene or two). Eh, in the future i'm going to buy it none the less, but it'd be nice to share it with some friends on tv the public way. The only way an anime can become popular and start selling merchandise seriously in the united states.

I can understand why they wouldn't show it, i was surprised in the first place they brought over two episodes... i was just hoping they'd bring a little bit more.

John Bono Switches to anti-perpetuation-of-stupid, out-of-left field perceptions mode.

There is NO nudity in Evangelion. Where people still get this asinine idea from, I have no clue. During the entire series, they were sure to never quite show those lovely things on the end of a woman's breasts, although they got rather close a few times. Unless you coulnt seeing part of the breast nudity, then I guess you have a point. But still I don't think they'd go as far to edit that for AS. Toonami, though, yes. Ah...the obligatory anime tripping scene...
Now End of Evangelion, in there you see nipples, but it's nothing sexual, just that Lilith was never clothed...

Okay I just finished watching Evangelions 26 episodes. Death and Rebirth and End of Evangelion are on my must see list. First I was amazed that there was such a thing as a dialogue heavy mech anime (yes i know we find out they arent mechs but you know what I mean). WHy couldnt it be shown on CN or AS? Well the nudity for one but it only appears a couple of times in the series. Sure it doesnt show nipples. But it gets real close and the are supposed to be pre-teen or just entering their teens. So it walks a fine line for the network. The nature of the show is very religious as well. And as we saw in something small like Big O

"Cast in the name of god"

CN isnt big on religious references now are they? And there is no way you could get past that. Then theres episode 26. Man I wish I hadn't watched 26. It ruined the series for me. I really hope the movies make up for it. But going back on track. The alternate reality is border line for cartnoon network as well. I am talking about when they are back at school. I know it seems lame by our standards. But think of a channel trying to sell commercial time. Who would buy time for 26? High Times magazine? NAMBLA?

Concerning 26. What a huge gigantic let down. You lead up with the dead sea scolls, the 16 angels, the answer to the Rei riddle. The answer to the adam/lillith riddle (I should have caught on when he kept calling them lillam). And then you get the flashback sequence and that corny ending. Please tell me the movies make up for it. Please please please.

End of Evangelion is ...well... a trip. It continues where episode 24 left off.

Some things to look forward to in EoE:

more SEELE dialog
NERV vs. the 18th angel
EVA units 05-13
more Spear of Longinus action
and much more...

Ok, I don't see why people don't like the end of the Eva tv series.

It's pure brilliance. I totaly understood it and I could totaly relate to everything. For me Eva is about the characters, I don't really care about the story too much (but, that too is brilliant). The characters were really engrosing and you began to know them as the series went on. EoE is more of a contiuation of the story and is brilliant too. I personaly suggest that you skip D&R because it's just a recap, they have some deleted scenes from the show but that's it, to me it was almost a big waste of time...it was ok...but I'll still buy it for the sake of completeness ^_^.

***************SPOILERS********************************

Have can you ignore the story. When for 26 episodes you are teased with the dead sea scrolls, the magii, and the realization that the Eva's are more then machines. Or that the first child is a clone and there is, err was, 100 more of her.

Then to have this wacked out LSD experiment of episode 26 with those incredibly annoying cricket sounds

It didnt finish the character development. It just threw it a curve. Plus 26 should have given us an ending. And more gave us "Now go see the follow up EVA's".

I really liked the series and i think thats why i am so so angry at episode 26

They do! People do like the ending! Well...3 of us do...you, me, and some guy in Panama City...

***SPOILERS***

anyway, I can see why almost no one likes it, but I'll tell you why I like it - it was a HAPPY ending for characters I liked...I mean, it wasn't really happy, but it was the freakin happiest ending possible - come on, I don't wanna see Misato die! I don't want to see everyone turn into Tang! my poor Maya! no!!!! on the other hand, it kind of ruins the integrity of the series

***SPOILERS END***

as for Death and Rebirth, I love it...it's mostly rehashed material, but I still like it; it's REALLY REALLY good if you watch it on DVD, with the commentary - you get a lot of interesting, insightful, and funny (two of the commentators/VA's were comedians) commentary (Amanda Winn's one of the commentors...she's one of my favorite VA's anyway Razz)

I see...
You've missed the point entirely, my friend. Watch it again. All of it. Or ask FAK to explain it to you--he does it better than me. Essentially, the whole series, in my mind was a big setup for the last two episodes, to give them context. The point was to make a point, not intrigue you.
