Post subject: Idea for Adult Swim: Retro Night
|
|
|
|
When AS attained Fridays I made a post their message boards suggesting that Fridays be Retro Night or something to that extent. Surprisingly people liked my idea. I mean, Friday is the same as the other nights, if they're going to add a new day, why not make it special. What's your opinion guys? |

To be honest, I keep forgetting that Adult Swim has Fridays now...
That said, I can't imagine Friday night being a big ratings night, so if Cartoon Network wanted to dig into their vault a bit, I'm all for it. What shows do you think would best fit on such a block? _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

What unaired episodes? I thought only the pilot was made. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

You are correct, sir. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

There has got to be some more episodes made. No one makes just one episode... do they?
How about this "Welcome to Eltingville (new episodes)" |

Yes. That's why it's called a pilot. _________________ Toonami visual schedule - UPDATED AUGUST 2, 2015 |

I thought that was a clever metaphor for the episode being the first to appear. If I had the means to make a show, I'd make at least 5 episodes and if the first didn't get picked by a major network, I'd just show the series on my website. |

Nice idea, but it might not always work that way. The creators don't always hold the copyrights to their own series. Sometimes, they're handed over to the big media corporations that produced and broadcasted them. They wouldn't be happy if they saw someone else (even the original creators) putting their material in another medium of which they don't approve. _________________ Toonami visual schedule - UPDATED AUGUST 2, 2015 |

That gives me a new perspective on animation. Anyway, I still want a retro night. I want to feel like I did when AS first started.

If you want retro, we need some of the old Stephen Hawking bumps and Pilot Candidate for a good 'retro' finish. _________________ To do two things at once is to do neither. —Publilius Syrus, Roman slave, first century B.C. |
