Acquisition Info The Boys Are Back In Town!

The oft-forgotten Toonami veteran series Ronin Warriors has been licensed by Discotek Media! However, it will be a sub-only release and it will be released under its original Japanese title, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. (Strangely, they'll also be releasing the OVA series with the dub.) They've issued the following statement regarding this release:

“This will be the original version only. If and when we release Ronin Warriors, it will be a separate collection. There are some issues that need to be cleared on the dub.”

Acquisition Info Vampire killin' fun! (ADDENDUM)

Hellsing Ultimate joins Toonami on September 13 as a replacement for Black Lagoon (and Naruto, since each episode is an hour long)!

UPDATE: According to JDM, Naruto is indeed gone. Probably permanently.

Etc. The adventures of a dandy guy in theaters.

BONES president Masahiko Minami attended a panel the Animagic convention in Bonn, Germany to discuss the company's 15-year history. (The full coverage is available at Crunchyroll.) He made an interesting announcement that the company wants to make a Space Dandy movie if the series is successful. We'll have to wait and see how that transpires.

  Soapbox So long, Totoro (update)

JRuff writes "It turns out that Studio Ghibli is temporarily closing their animation department doors. The reason: They're concentrating on rebuilding and reconstructing the famed animation studio. In the meantime, they will still continue to make feature films.

Etc. Meet the new lady in charge!

In late March, Stuart Snyder stepped down as President of CN and Adult Swim.

After four months of silence, his successor has finally been announced: Christina Miller.

Cartoon Network hasn't seen a female President since the network's first--Betty Cohen, who was forced out of her position in 2001 shortly after Jamie Kellner took over for a couple of years.

I wish her the best of luck with her new leadership.

  Schedules Bat Lagoon

Schedule notice: Jason DeMarco has confirmed that Black Lagoon and Beware the Batman will be switching time slots on July 26 to place emphasis on the premiering unaired episodes.

Also, Cowboy Bebop is likely returning that night as well, since Sym-Bionic Titan ends the week before. According to Turner's schedule (which has been unfortunately erased), it will likely air at 4:30, bumping Samurai Jack down to 5:30. (Clone Wars remains untouched.) It's not confirmed yet, but we'll have to wait and see.
